Notes: For DHCP service information, you should refer to "3rd Part DHCP" in CCBoot v3.0 Wiki if you are using CCBoot v3.0 lastest version. The following steps only for v2.1 or earlier version of v3.0.

We recommend you using CCBoot integrated DHCP service and make sure that there's no other DHCP service on the LAN.

On the "Options" menu in CCBoot server, click "Settings", and then click "Scan DHCP" to check out whether there're other DHCP servers or not on the LAN. If yes, CCBoot can also indicate where the DHCP services are located so that you can easily find and disable them to make sure client computers can diskless boot successfully.

However, if you insist using other DHCP service (e.g. MS DHCP of Windows Server 2003) for CCBoot, please read the bellow instructions (suppose the CCBoot server's IP address is 192.168.1.10).

  1. On CCBoot server, click "Options" -> "DHCP Settings" -> click not to select the "Start DHCP" check box, then click "OK" button to save (Figure 1).

  2. On the DHCP server, click "Windows Start" -> "Administrative Tools" -> "DHCP" -> right click "Server Options" -> "Configure Options" -> "General" -> click to select "066 Boot Server Host Name" and "067 Bootfile Name" and set as bellow (Figure 2 and Figure 3).

  3. Try to diskless boot a client and record the IP address it has got from the MS DHCP service.
  4. On CCBoot server, set this client's IP address as the one it has got in step 3.
  5. Now you can diskless boot client computers with MS DHCP service for CCBoot.
